Become a Board Member
Supervisors serve as volunteers, and are granted specific powers under Chapter 1515 of the Ohio Revised Code, and have the legal and ethical responsibility to ensure that Harrison SWCD meets its mission to provide educational and technical assistance to landowners. Board members are elected to serve staggered, three year terms.
Supervisors set District policies, develop a strategic plan and make sure that the staff follows the annual plan of operations. The board works with other agencies and local officials, and assists with the attainment of operational funds.
Board meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 3:30 p.m. at the district office. June, July and August Board meetings are held at 7:30 a.m. A few special meetings might be necessary throughout the year, including the Annual Meeting. Supervisors are encouraged to participate in workshops, seminars, and events throughout the county, area and state.
We encourage county residents to attend the Annual Meeting and vote for board supervisors in order to help protect Harrison County's soil and water resources.
