Ray Rummell
Natural Resource Specialist

Rummell, who was raised on a dairy farm in Carroll County, has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the Ohio State University. He worked for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service for 35 years before retiring. Rummell established a 32 acre retirement farm where he raises freezer beef, shorthorn beef cattle, boer goats and quarter horses. 

Rummell and wife Ronda have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Rummell, provides technical assistance to landowners and enjoys working with landowners and residents of Harrison County to solve natural resource problems.

Yvonne Ackerman
District Program Administrator

Ackerman, a native of Monroe County, joined Harrison Soil & Water Conservation District in April 2009. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Communications from the Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and a minor in Animal Sciences. Prior to working with Harrison SWCD, Ackerman began her career in natural resource conservation at Belmont SWCD as an Administrative Assistant, where she worked for more than 4 years. 

Ackerman is responsible for managing the Harrison SWCD finances, website, newsletter, and public relations. She acts as office manager and works to find additional operating funds to fulfill the District’s mission to promote stewardship through educational and technical assistance for the conservation of our natural resources.
