Big Tree Contest
Residents of Harrison County are encouraged to search for the biggest white oak tree in the county. Big trees can be found in yards, arboretums, and cemeteries and can be found in parks and backyards. The winning tree’s landowner and/or nominator will be recognized at the Harrison SWCD’s Annual Meeting & Banquet held in the fall.

Entries must be received by September 1st of the current year. Entries received after September 1st will be evaluated in the following year.

Trees will be measured utilizing the three measurements of circumference, height and average crown spread to obtain the total points for a Big Tree score. Nominations are open to anyone. However, the tree must be located within Harrison County.
